Simple House - Small Riverside House

It is small house built on a unique riverside site in a very small size forming an acute angle. Various regulations are used to make such small house so that becomes a unique one. Owned by a married couple with a little daughter, the small house has been quite nice and comfortable getting river views and facing the promenade.

Even though it is just a small house in a very limited site, the architects have designed it well to be a quite nice dwelling. The west side is there a dining room and kitchen with high ceiling. Contrarily, low ceiling is designed in the living room with glass windows on both sides; giving the feeling of floating for the small house.

The small house is also designed with spare room in the deepest narrowed down area as well as a loft with two skylights where the owner of the small house can look down at the river and also the sky up there. The loft also becomes a fantastic space for the little girl to play with her toys.

Small House - Beautiful Small Sun House

Located in a roadside Singapore, the Sun House is quite compact built in a corner plot of a set up bungalow area. Designed by Guz Architects, the small house is so comfortable and green with many vegetations planted surrounded in the garden. The small house is maximally designed by the architects by shoving the site of main building in L shape to the back and created courtyard there. Then the courtyard makes the area more airy, opened, and giving nice views for the small house.

To create the awesome views, the architects build pool and ponds that are also functioned to cool down the small house. The architects also maximized the space and volumes by splitting the staircase and living space for the courtyard. When the small house was almost finished designed, the owner also designed a corner made of solid wall where he can display his collections of artworks and sculptures. Besides, he also gave anchor to the small house where he can expand some space.

Simple House - Minimalist Modern Modular Home Design

A summer home should be simple insofar as it is easy to maintain, inexpensive, comfortable and requires little work to get back into working condition after being idle for a while. While this miniature modular house by Tommie Wilhelmsen takes advantage of cheap materials, a simple plan and a small site to save on costs, it is also compelling in its three-dimensional spatial complexity.

Seen from the outside, the secluded enclosure of an upper bedroom also wraps to form a semi-enclosed deck space below. The volumes that comprise the house fit together but also provide views in various directions and some privacy between each interior and exterior room.

The interior of the building is modern and minimalist as the exterior. Simple white walls and mostly built-in furniture populate these spaces and open shelving and clean lines are found throughout making everything easy to keep tidy.

Nooks and crannies are formed by the wrapping exterior walls to create comfortable interior spaces within the plan – without letting them become cramped by being fully divided and isolated.

Shifts in elevation are also employed to make each small space a distinct section inside of the structure as a whole. While it is only a summer home this would be a wonderfully rich set of spaces to live in year round as well.
