Unique House - Most Unique Design of House in Leiria

The architect Manuel Aires Mateus has finished this house in Leiria, Portugal with unique and creative design of architecture. By exploring not too large space for the building, the architect explored the underground floor more creatively. However, the smart arrangement of the architecture makes the castle at the center of the city gets much natural light.

The idea of the architecture is making a three height void horizontally from the roof to the lower ground floor so that it can collect more natural lights for the whole parts of the house. The private area of the house such as bedrooms and children play room is situated under the plot. The private area has a private patio in the middle. Meanwhile, the social area such as living room and dining room are situated on the upper level.

The architecture design of the Leiria Castle enables much natural light entering the interior through the void. Besides, the courtyards surrounded by private areas also get much natural light from the void to the level garden. Located on the high area with the view of the city and Leiria outskirt, the castle looks so special with the unique architecture design. www.grandhousedesign.com

Unique House - The Box House

This small project (180 sqm) is located near the seaside, in an urbanization on the northface of the port of Mahon, in Menorca. The area is very quite, caracterized by the existence of several isolated houses mainly composed by the intersection of cubic blocks.

As the site is situated between two houses, the aim of the project was to create an introverted house regarding to the neighbours, and outgoing to the main views to the seaside. It appears as a compact geometry, in contrast to the unlucky catalog of formal solutions of the surrounding neighbours.

The house is mainly closed on its north facade, and open wide to the south orientation, it appears as a massive compact object, perforated by a “great eye”, framing the interesting views.

The program is divided in two floors regarding to the existing strong slope of the site. The main entrance and sleeping area are on the first floor, while the living room and the kitchen are situated on the ground level. The kitchen is conceived to cook looking at the sea, this idea is reinforced by the use of the same floor natural stone in the interior and exterior areas. The exterior area is divided by different slopes, creating intimate or open areas as needed. Regarding to the native architectural tradition, we used “ White“ as the main material (and not as a colour) for the whole solution.

Unique House - Contemporary Wooden Architecture Building by Pieta-Linda Auttila Architect

Architectural design in this article is very unique, in the use of materials and in shape. About 90% of the entire building uses material from the timber, except for the window because we can not change the timber to be transparent like glass. The form was somewhat unique, in particular the use of a square shape, and in some other part using curved forms. So far, we use wood as an ornamental building, among others, to the ceiling and floor of the room. But in this design, the function is evolving toward more distant, more than just a trimmer. For this design, the wood runs the main function as a protector, because it's almost entirely made of wood construction.

The architectural design of this wooden building located in the maritime heart of Helsinki, designed by Pieta-Linda Auttila. If you look closely, this design is really amazing. In some parts of the curved shape, we can imagine how the carpenters have been working hard to get the forms that are not uncommon. Embodiment of harmonious cooperation between Pieta-Linda Auttila as architects and carpenters who have worked hard, producing stunning wooden architecture building design.

So is the case with certain parts that belong in the top, turn under. Not only the workers who like to be disoriented, even if you do not see these images, might have trouble understanding the upside down home design presented in this article.
